Ed - Drums, Bass, Guitar, programming After following elder brother Sonny onto the drum kit at age 11, Ed spent the nineties and naughties playing drums, bass and guitar in various funk, rock, reggae, folk and experimental bands as well as exploring the realms of electronica during his time as solo artist and DJ under the moniker of Hanuman. Due to their obvious common ground and similar musical taste Ed was always happiest playing along side Sonny in bands such as The Resonators, Avalon Roots and four piece folk outfit Primaeval, of which Jonathan Shorland was also a member. It was at this time that Ed and Sonny planted the first embryonic ideas of the Celtech concept and the demise of Primaeval paved the way for the rearing of their collective brainchild. |

Sonny - Bass, Guitar, Mandolin, Accordion, Drums, Programming James aka Sonny has gigged in the UK, Germany and Israel and been involved in various recording projects over the years. He started his musical career with drum lessons at the age of 11. A couple of years later he progressed to teaching himself guitar and and then, eventually, on to all manner of other stringy things such as mandolin bouzouki and bass. He also took up the accordion which he now realizes is a filthy habit and is trying hard to kick it. He became immersed in the Brythonic/Celtic Tradition playing dance music in such bands as Dragonsfly, Primaeval and Green Angels. During his time playing with The Resonators and Avalon Roots he explored the realms of Dub, Reggae and Ska. Having been deeply inspired by various psychedelic and ambient techno acts over the years, his long term focus has been to create music which blends all these influences. Working with his brother Ed has provided the perfect opportunity to achieve this. |

Daygan - Mandolin Daygotronic! Growing up between Liverpool and Manchester Daygan felt the influence of the local live music scene from an early age. Finding an abandoned mandolin at the age of 9 had a profound effect, and he started his first band at the age of 14 playing Indie Rock music. Having been in several bands since then, Daygan has slowly moved from Indie Rock to Folk Rock, through rediscovering the sweet sounds of the mandolin and also developing a love for the bouzouki. Daygan has worked with many established artists such as Shiela Chandra, Daevid Allen of Gong and Toby Marks of Banco de Gaia. Daygan currently also plays in Dragonsfly, a successful Celtic/Eastern folk fusion band that has been gigging and recording for the last decade. This has given him a love of blending different styles of music and joining Celtech has provided an exciting opportunity to continue with this and to explore the realms of electronica whilst continuing to draw deeply on his Celtic roots. |
